What was the ‘Enhanced Interrogation-programme’?
This contribution attempts to provide a broad, objective and neutral overview of the origin, development,
implementation, ethics, effectiveness and consequences of the Enhanced Interrogation programme.
This was introduced in the United States a few weeks after ‘9/11’ to interrogate the arrested suspects of the terrorist attacks. The polarized debates and opposing perspectives that exist on this are also mentioned. It is a snapshot that allows a reader to form his or her opinion about it and to explore this further by means of references to literature.
