Taking up the idea of Gert Vermeulen to enforce the violation of group-wide (including suppliers) compliance schemes by penalising those violations, this paper aims to analyse the role of such group-wide compliance (or rather due diligence) schemes also in light of the EU’s recent Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. It assesses if and how such due diligence schemes can establish criminal liability and thereby jurisdiction as well.
