This paper reflects on the early experiences of an innovative project being implemented in the UK in Preston, Lancashire to set-up and run Peer Panels which use restorative justice techniques to divert young13 people from the criminal justice system. The feature that makes them particularly innovative in a UK context is the role young people play in delivering panels.
